What is Getresponse?

GetResponse is an email marketing platform which offers services such as landing pages, email automations, a CRM, and advanced automation. Getresponse offers you the ability to do quite a lot such as:

  • create a mailing list of thousands of subscribers
  • create premium emails with high-end available templates
  • automate your emails with ‘autoresponders’ and send them to your subcribers
  • analytics to check the progress of open rate, click through, forwards etc.

In recent years however, Getresponse has gradually shifted and narrowed her focus to become the product that aims to be more of an ‘all-in-one’ e-commerce and marketing solution rather than just an email marketing tool.

GetResponse is no doubt one of the easiest newsletter tools available, with a lot of pro features. The Polish-based company provides its services to over 182 countries and also claims to engage about 1 billion subscribers every month! Wow! That’s quite much.

One interesting thing about this getresponse feature is that the landing pages forms part of the conversion funnel, it is a new feature that takes care of the process of traffic generation and can also act as an online store including the processing of payment. Another interesting point to note is their automation which allows for advanced automated campaigns based on triggers/conditions such as sales or even location.

When you step to the higher packages of getresponse, you will be granted access to a webinar hosting feature. Also, with an inbuilt CRM-extras. Something you don’t commonly see in email marketing platforms. Getresponse has also recently introduced new features, including conversion funnels. Getresponse has been active in business since 1998, that’s quite long.

It is fair to say that Getresponse has provided enough confidence as a well-established company which is not likely to disappear any time soon.

Key Getresponse features

Get response offers a wide range of different interesting features which I will be explaining in a short while. Meanwhile Getresponse has in recent times been striving to become and all-in-one email marketing and e-commerce solution. So you did expect stuffs like list hosting, templates, analytics, autoresponders and many others.

Let’s look deeply into them and see what they all have to offer and if it is worth it:

Autoresponders

  • Marketing automation tools
  • Split testing
  • Getresponse email templates
  • Analytics
  • Landing page creator
  • Webinars
  • Conversion funnels
  • Apps and integrations

Autoresponders

For example, let’s say you want to create an email or a series of emails to be sent to a group of subscribers automatically. We all know how tedious and impossible it will be to manually send the emails one by one, So GetResponse makes this more convenient to you via its Autoresponders feature. You can easily achieve this by setting it up that:

  • When somebody signs up immediately to your mailing list, they will receive a welcome message from your business
  • five days later they could receive a discount offer for some of your additional products or services
  • Two weeks later they could receive an encouragement to follow you up on social media or perhaps just give them tips to boost their business. Etc

Base on how you want it, you can schedule how these emails will be sent to your subscribers list at intervals. This is a good feature especially when you have other things to take care of or perhaps you want to take a vacation with your loved ones and you want your business to keep running nonetheless.

Autoresponders is absolutely a great way to signup new subscribers; it is a feature that becomes much better when teamed up with the marketing automation feature, which we shall be tackling shortly.

But just to brush you a little on how it works, you can automate your sales and engagement by setting up multiple autoresponders in other to create a drip-feed campaign!

There are two basic ways you can set automated messages, either time-based or action-based messages; time-based options include setting up a time when the messages will be sent, and action-based messages can also be triggered by using user actions or information, example:

  • opens
  • clicks
  • subscriptions to particular lists
  • changes in contact preferences
  • completed transactions / goals
  • birthdays
  • changes in user data

Marketing automation tools

In other to capture more sales and generate more revenue on autopilot, then you must have to leverage on GetResponse’s marketing automation features. This feature enables you to capture more sales

As I have mentioned autoresponders above, Getresponse also provides a more brilliant option for sequencing emails automatically. This is called ‘Marketing Automation,’ which is available on ‘Plus’ plans or higher.

As stated, you can create numerous autoresponders to create a drip-feed campaign. This can allow you to set the software to work as it automatically sends the emails to a segment on your list.

This feature will give you the flexibility of creating automation workflows using a drag and drop builder. You can basically set up an ‘automation flowchart’ that will instruct and direct Getresponse on what to do if a user opens a particular offer, clicks on a certain link etc.

You also need to create a workflow that is geared toward your goal. There are ready made templates to help you with that, unless you want to put your own creativity to work by creating from fresh.

Note that the aim of every email campaign is to make sure that people get to reach the end of the campaign by letting the workflow do the work for you.

Thus, by adding a conditional logic to the equation, you get to create a personalized automated emails based on their actions.

For instance, if subscribers receive your email but fail to open it, they will receive a different email compare to the ones who opened theirs.

After you’re done with the workflow, click on each element to add the message you want subscribers to receive.

Split testing

Creating and sending variants of your newsletters to some of the people on your subscriber list is known as split testing, this will help you to monitor the performance of each, and thus sending the ‘best’ version to the remainder of your list.

Getresponse in this regard has a much better advantage compared to other of its competitors, this is because Getresponse will allow you to split test up to five different messages against each other (using subject header, content, field and send time as variables). Other of its competitors will naturally allow you work with 2 or 3 variants.

Split testing is really a great feature for it will enable you to optimize different variants until you unveil the perfect one that works best. I will emplore you to utilize this feature very well if really you want to venture into email marketing.

Although, the functionality of the split testing feature has been reduced on the new Getresponse templates — but you can still test up to 5 variants against each other, but only using different subject headers.

Getresponse email templates

Now, Instead of you creating a design from scratch, you can easily just pick a template from a bunch of templates which are readily available for you. You can easily find the right template that matches the kind of email campaign you want to undertake.

There are over 220 Getresponse templates available for one, although other email marketing software do offer more templates eg. Aweber offers over 700 email templates.

You can easily change the design of the templates of each block or section by tweaking its settings, whether you have design skills or not, changing the color or resizing the font size is an easy thing to do.

It also offers a drag and drop technology to further make your work much easier, just drag and drop blocks and sections you want to add to the template to further personalize it.

The email templates are grouped into categories which are focused around core goals like (promoting, educating, selling etc.).

On the good side, Getresponse email creator enables you to make a wide use of Google web fonts which is a feature I must commend, it’s something you will hardly get from other competitors. The wide selection of web fonts is great, because with the success of Google fonts in corporate branding these days, it will help you to create an email campaign which maintains brand values and aesthetics.

Note that not all emailing programs support the use of web fonts but you can always select a fall-back font for Getresponse in other to tackle those.

Getresponse also offers an E-commerce section where you can easily add the Product box and as well recommend product blocks in the email editor. But note that you can only get to use these feature if you set up your store on GetResponse.

Another good thing about Getresponse is that If you want to use the same email design on your other campaigns, all you will have to do is to save up the current one as a template. You will then be able to access your customized design in the Design and Content.

Once you’re done, you need to schedule the time that the email will be sent to those you intend they will receive it. You can send it immediately or set a future time that your recipient will get them.

Finally, Getresponse templates are responsive, that means they will adjust themselves automatically in other to fit the device that they are being viewed on mobile, be it a tablet, desktop computer etc.

You can use the preview function to see how your newsletter will appear on each.

IMPORTANT

Enable Perfect timing, this will ensure that your subscribers will receive the email at the best time based on when they opened your previous emails from you.

Analytics

Analytics is a tool that gives you reports of the progress of your mails. Getresponse goes well with different range of analytics and reporting options. Some of which are: open rate, unsubscribe, click-through, rates and so on. In addition to that, I will like to mention some few ones that are worth mentioning:

  • ROI for emails: it is very easy to track your sales with Getresponse using this feature, you can achieve this by simply adding a tracking code to your post-sales page on your site, it will help you to find out how effectively (or not!) your email campaigns are driving sales.
  • Metrics over time‘: with “metrics over time” you will discover exactly when your subscribers took action on your emails, and time your future mail outs based on this information.
  • one-click segmentation‘: this very option is to pinpoint people who did not engage with the e-newsletter you sent them. After which you can place them in a segment of subscribers where you can then email them again with a different version of the e-newsletter.
  • E-newsletter performance comparison: you can check the performance of two e-newsletters by comparing them side-by-side quite easily using this very feature.
  • Per-user information: Get information about your subscribers, you can do that by clicking on your subscribers to see where they signed up from (their location), and which emails they’ve opened in the past.

Getresponse offers a fully featured reporting tool compared to others like Mailchimp and Aweber, although Mailchimp and Aweber also functions well in this aspect, particularly around sales but Getresponse has a higher credit on this one.

To make sure that your campaigns are really successful, you have to really know how your subscribers received it. You cannot just assume that since you create a very good email campaign, it will make a great hit; your subscribers may not share the same sentiment.

The knowledge of how your email campaign fared with your subscribers is very important. That will enable you to understand what you did right or what you did wrong and also know how you can improve upon your next campaign.

To achieve this, review your campaign’s analytics to see the different metrics that determine its overall performance.

From the dashboard, you will have an overview on how everything went and from there you can easily optimize your campaigns.

Landing page creator

If you want your visitors to convert into subscribers or even customers, then landing page is the magic.

Getresponse offers different templates to help you with that, different templates for different reasons e.g. promotion, download, sale, etc.

Campaigns that implore the use of landing pages will to a great extend generate more leads, instead of just simply directing people to their target website; they will re-direct users to attractive ‘squeeze pages’ that contains clear information in a well-designed data capture form.

Building a landing page is made easy thanks to Getresponse easy to use drag and drop builder.

That’s an offer you may not get from other competitors; landing page creator (one that’s mobile-friendly too).

Aside using it to build squeeze pages, you can test the conversion rate of these pages against each other, and then point out the best performing one. This can enable you have more leads and also to capture and improve the reach of your email campaign.

Similar products may require of you to use a third-party landing page creating tool like click funnels, Unbounce or Instapage, so the inclusion of the landing page feature in Getresponse is very useful because it helps you save cost, so it’s a key piece of functionality to have in your email marketing toolbox.

Getresponse landing page is fully functional on all plans. Landing page tools like Unbounce and Instapage cost a minimum of $80 and $199 per month respectively; you will realize that you did be saving much here with Getresponse

Landing pages on Getresponse can be stitched with to a wide range of several analytic tools and cookies, such as Kissmetrics, Facebook pixel Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager.

Getresponse boast of over 180 landing pages templates and these templates present an appearance that settles with what you would expect from modern landing pages. Although, there are some hinges with the landing pages creator that needs some improvement especially the interface which is not particularly intuitive but kind of clunky. Another thing is that you will be required to create separate landing pages for both mobile and desktop version. Remember, viewing experience on mobile and desktop are two different things.

And lastly, while you can be able to use analytics cookies on your Getresponse landing page, for instance via the Facebook pixel, it is not actually possible with the GDPR compliant way.

Once you’re done with the landing page you have created, you will then need to decide which domain you want to publish the page, you can choose from over three preset domains owned by GetResponse.

However, if you own a website, it will be best for you to publish it under your domain for branding purposes.

In general, the landing page is potentially a great feature.

Webinars

GetResponse is the only email marketing platform that incorporates inbuilt webinar capabilities. It is a feature that has just been introduced recently in Getresponse, the interesting thing about this feature is the fact that you can also work with other features in other to make setting up your webinars a lot easier as compared to using a third-party tool.

Webinars are well known as tools for lead-generation tactic or for generating revenue. The thought of having both your email database and your webinar tool on the same roof is really great.

If your campaigns and guides are not bringing in more sales for you in your business, then the next best solution is to host a webinar.

This will create a platform where your audience can join and learn about the topic, this will create more awareness to them about your products and services in a very effective way.

Them joining your webinar is an indication that they are already having an interest in what you have to offer, as such you should expect to make more sales or close more deals with a webinar session.

Creating a webinar begins with you setting up the details about the page URL, date, duration and many others.

You can also be able to set up the webinar to collect registrants in advance and decide which email list you will subscribe them to.

Once you are done with the settings, move to the next step.

You can then create forms and landing pages that will enable your audience to pre-register for the webinar.

You can use autoresponders to remind them on when the webinar will take place and also on any changes that may occur

You will also be able to promote your webinar using your existing list; that can achieved through a newsletter so they can sign up and get informed about it as well.

GetResponse contains sufficient tools to run a webinar where you can take interact with attendees through questions and other real time. And if someone missed the webinar, you can share with them the link of the recorded webinar so they can watch it at their own pace.

Pricing for the webinar in Getrespobnse is highly competitive too by comparison to other established webinar solutions. For example, Gotowebinar which is the leading webinar service, charges over $59 per month to host webinars with up to 100 participants while Getresponse offers $49 per month with same services and even more.

In regard to attendee limits, Getresponse ‘Plus’ plan gives you the room to host a webinar with over 100 participants; the ‘Professional’ plan’s offers up to 300 and the ‘Enterprise’ plan’s shoots to over 500.

You sustain the ability to buy webinars functionality as an add-on for the ‘Basic’ plan for $40 per month with a 100 attendee’s limit while $99 per month will buy you a 500 attendees limit.

However, Getresponse admonish that if you are living in North America, then these add-ons ‘may not’ be available to you. To get over this, if you’re a ‘Basic’ plan user in North America, you will need to upgrade your account to unlock this functionality.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting quite much from the webinar feature since I have found out how the Getresponse interface for landing pages especially can be a little clunky. But I was rather surprised: the webinars interface and functionality have proven to be really excellent.

Here are a few Getresponse webinar features that are worth flagging up which I consider very useful:

  • Your attendees don’t need to install any software to be able to attend your webinars, which I consider great.
  • Screen sharing feature that enables you to express your points through several means.
  • An option to upload your PowerPoint presentations to Getresponse during a webinar
  • Record all your webinars with just one click
  • You get free online storage for playback files (interesting)
  • Ability to share video function (YouTube)

On the downside,

  • You cannot run a free webinar; viewers have to pay for access on the ‘Professional’ plan or higher.
  • The file storage has a limit for you recorded webinars which is not that generous. You will get 3 hours storage on the ‘Plus’ plan, 6 hours on the ‘Professional’ and over 10 hours on the ‘Enterprise’ plan
  • You can’t actually increase the limit of the attendee cap as I have seen.

Despite the limits, the webinar functionality is a must have feature to have in your email marketing. This very feature has arguably giving Getresponse a greater edge over its key competitors. The fact that your list is well integrated with your webinar broadcasting tool is an essential plus point which has a very high quality.

Conversion funnels

Conversion funnels is another new feature that has recently been introduced by Getresponse. This feature to a certain extend turns Getresponse into more of a plartform that you can use to run an entire e-commerce business apart from just being an email marketing platform.

Conversion Funnel helps to take away guesswork from developing a high-converting campaign which is made up of, landing pages, signup forms, and emails.

The idea behind this feature is so you can do the following without having ever to leave the Getresponse environment:

  • Create a catalogue of product
  • To drive users to sales pages which is also created with Getresponse
  • Receive payment for products
  • Ability to create and run Facebook ad campaigns
  • Create landing pages
  • Add subscribers to an autoresponder cycle with this feature

As the name of this feature suggests, Getresponse sole purpose is aimed at providing you with an easy means to create sales funnels without ever having the need for any other external app unless necessary. Getresponse presents a wider range of templates which will help you with this.

This feature is generally available for all plans but with the exemption of the ‘Basic’ plan which allows you to create just one funnel, and does not permit you to utilize the abandoned cart recovery feature which automatically emails people who have added an item to their cart only to not complete their purchase.

You can decide to work with third party platforms for this feature with Shopify, Bigcommerce and Etsy. This can all be easily integrated.

this feature is probably best suited for ‘solopreneurs’ or just small businesses who desire an all-in-one option for creating all the assets they did need to create a sales funnel, right up to converting subscribers into customers. But Merchants who are having large product catalogues and large e-commerce requirements may want to have a dedicated e-commerce platform like Bigcommerce or Shopify, this platform will give them the large room to do more.

Apps and integrations

There are over 150 integrations in Getresponse to get you started; this will help you to integrate Getresponse with another platform of your choice. You can use this feature to hook Getresponse with other popular e-commerce solutions and content management systems which may include brands like Shopify and WordPress and other CRM systems example Capsule and Highrise.

Integrations enable you to expand your horizon and make your work much more executable as you combine Getresponse with other great apps

There are some few useful Google integrations which generally allows you to import a Gmail contact list, add a Google Analytics tags to an email campaign, and to also link your landing pages to Google Ads in such a way will help you to better measure the effectiveness of your PPC campaigns.

Another way to integrate Getresponse with other programs or systems is by using its API (Application Programming Interface), this may have to require some programing skills. Application Programming Interface will allow you to send and receive data to and from Getresponse in whichever way that suits your application.

Data management and deliverability

Opt-in processes

Basically, there are two main methods that you can use in other to add subscribers to a mailing list. These two methods are known as the ‘single opt-in’ or a ‘double opt-in’ process.

In the single opt-in method, when the person has sign up, he will be added to your mailing list at that moment they click on the submit button on your sign up form.

While in the double opt-in process, when the person signs up to your list, he will be sent a confirmation link to confirm his or her email before they can be added to your mailing list. I am sure you must have experienced this method a couple of times while signing up for programs or websites online. The reason for this is to make sure that the email you are receiving is a valid email.

And the main benefit for a single opt-in process is the fact that it makes it really easy and smooth for users to subscribe to your mailing list as they won’t have to go through much stress in other to subscribe to your list. It also increases the conversion rate and therefore the number of subscribers on your list.

Although, a double opt-in process is better since it verifies that the people subscribing to your list are using real email addresses, this will give you a more quality leads because the open rates etc. are only calculated based on a list containing only real email addresses. But this feature can reduce the number of leads you will capture and probably the effectiveness of your campaign.

Getresponse allows you to make use of either opt-in approach which is good news; you might not see this in the case with all other competing email solutions. So this is a big plus on the side of Getresponse

The best value Getresponse plan?

You might be asking yourself, so which plan is the best and more economical. Well, in this case, I would say it all depends on what you want and the kind of requirement of your business. But for the sake of review, I will mention the plan that I think will give you the sweetest spot. the ‘Plus’ plan probably represents the ‘sweet spot’ in the lineup, this is because it offers you a bulk of Getresponse’s feature set at a considerable price. There are two key features that are included in this plan, i.e. Automation building and webinars, which make the upgrade from ‘Basic’ particularly worthwhile. (Note that you can only be charged for webinars if only you’re on a ‘Pro’ plan.)

Data capture and forms

You cannot possibly launch an email campaign if at all you do not have subscribers to whom you will send these emails to. Getresponse has you all covered with its sign-up form that allows you to collect information which you will like to include in your email list.

It is quite easy to create forms on Getresponse as you can easily choose from four ways and also select from the different templates which are organized into various categories so you don’t have to really start from scratch.

you can edit the already made templates and layout as in the case of building emails which I have discussed earlier, you can also add new ones if necessary.

You can easily add the form to your website using a snippet of JavaScript code in other to display your form, this form can be displayed in different formats such as example inline, pop-up or slide-up.

In Getresponse, you can use both the HTML forms and also the JavaScript to capture data into standard Getresponse fields or populate custom fields if you prefer it.

You can create both desktop and mobile versions with JavaScript forms, which have made them to be pretty good. A good range of web fonts are available for styling. You can also enable the spambot blocking CAPTCHA feature, which will help you to prevent fake signups.

After you are done with the form, you can easily just publish it on your website by pasting the code on any page. You can also allow Getresponse host it for you on their servers. To do that, all you need to do is to jus share the URL with your audience.

However, Getresponse does not offer any controls to switch pop-up forms on or off for some certain devices or individual pages on your site. Considering Google’s approach to pop-ups on smartphones where sites can significantly take a hit in search results if they display ‘intrusive interstitials’ on mobile devices. this is a bit of a concern.

A little tweak to walk over this is to connect Getresponse to a growth-hacking tool (works really great). Some available ones are: (Sumo or Privvy being). This trick will allow you to switch pop-ups off for mobile users and also style forms extensively; control which pages they appear on. This works just fine but note that it might incur additional price.

But if you’re going to integrate Getresponse with a CMS and using a forms package then you might not really find this to be an issue. For example, Word Press users can connect to a tool like Gravity Forms which can guarantee you quite a lot of control over form appearance to Getresponse via its API.

Data segmentation options

A good thing about Getresponse is the flexibility of sending emails to a multiple segment of your subscribers all at once or indeed excludes multiple segments. This is not easily found with some of Getresponse’s key competitors like Mailchimp and Aweber.

It doesn’t stop at you messaging/exclude multiple segments at once; it can also be applied the same way with individual lists. For example, let’s say you are having about three separate mailing lists on Getresponse, you could decide to mail individuals across all three of them very swiftly.

For example, let’s assume you have a subscriber list in Getresponse from segment A to segment D:

– Segment A

– Segment B

– Segment C

– Segment D

It will be really easy to message segment A, B and C all at once with Getresponse, all you have to do is to just tick three relevant checkboxes. Also, you can also decide to message segment B and C and exclude segment D.

This sort of flexibility makes Getresponse to stand out unique among its competitors because it will give you the freedom to really tailor your email campaign audience to the nth degree.

This very feature has come to be one of the biggest arguments that is in favour of Getresponse over its key competitor Mailchimp. Mailchimp does not unlock advanced segmentation features unless you are on the side of the hugely expensive ‘Mailchimp Premium’ plan.

Getresponse deliverability

Apart from considering the ease of creating forms, emails, good plans etc. another important thing to consider when choosing an email marketing tool is deliverability. The percentage of e-newsletters sent that will successfully reach your subscribers’ inboxes is very important and also the rate at which those emails will be delivered. Not every email marketing providers are very transparent about their deliverability rates, but Getresponse seems reasonably open about this. This is what they have to say about it on their website:

We are frequently asked about the quality of our deliverability rate. Because deliverability depends on many factors, including the content of your messages, the deliverability rate could vary for each mailing. For all our customers collectively, however, we are proud to say our overall deliverability rate currently stands at 99%.

Let’s say this is true and the website is honest, then it is a good deliverability rate and you’d be confident that the vast majority of the emails you send in Getresponse email campaign will speedily reach your intended recipients.

Furthermore, in your email analytics, Getresponse will give you the deliverability rate for each of the messages you send, this is something you wouldn’t find on competing products’ metrics.

Also, an authentication technique designed to enhance security for the senders and receivers of emails called custom DKIM is also available on all Getresponse plans. This sustains the ability to further improve deliverability.

GDPR

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) rules have made email marketing to be a bit more complicated because of the strict rules that constitute consent to receive e-newsletters and also a requirement about how that consent is logged.

Getresponse has taken a profound step to provide its users with very clear information about what their GDPR responsibilities are, along with special GDPR fields that make it easier to log consent and comply with these regulations. Meanwhile, there is an area I believe Getresponse could do better on the GDPR, and that’s logins. On Getresponse key competitor Mailchimp, there is a two-factor authentication in the login process where a user is granted access only after successfully presenting two or more pieces of information (i.e. a password and a code sent via SMS or email)

Given the fact that data security is a key aspect of GDPR, it would be nice to see such a functionality introduced as soon as possible in Getresponse.

Ease of use / interface

Let’s look at ease of use, if Getresponse’s interface is user friendly or not. On the honest side, it is fair to say that Getresponse is quite straightforward to use. Its interface is user friendly and has been redesigned just recently. Generally speaking, it is now an uncluttered and visceral affair.

As I have discussed above, it is easy enough to do all the basics in Getresponse. Basics like: importing contacts, creating an email campaign, setting up autoresponders and checking statistics. And also, as I have mentioned earlier, segment management is excellent.

When it comes to Getresponse’s advanced features like its marketing automation tools, the learning curve is not that much steep.

However, Getresponse’s forms and landing page creator tools could also be more user-friendly if only they were also improved as part of the interface revamp. This would have made them even more user-friendly. Looking at how the Getresponse interface stacks up, comparing it to that of its competitors like Mailchimp and Aweber. I would say Mailchimp interface has a cleaner design while that of Aweber comes closest in terms of look and feel. General, the part that failed most in usability for Getresponse is their email editor because it was clunky and buggy.

But while considering the newer version of the email creator, Getresponse has considerably improved things. It’s now much cleaner and has a more intuitive drag and drop interface. This one doesn’t crash at all and has proven that it is easy to use. We can say it is perfectly acceptable even though it is not to be compared to some other ones by competing apps, at least to an extent.

Customer support

Getresponse’s customer care support has been amongst the most efficient and comprehensive that is available for email marketing tools. Getresponse offers the following: phone support alongside live chat support, email support plus various online tutorials / resources.

But note that the phone support is now no longer available for it has now been discontinued (unless of cause you’re on the enterprise level “Max” plan). However, you can always use live chat (24/7) or email support.

Although, most e-marketing platforms only offer these two channels, so if you are a fan of phone support then you might want to consider Aweber which still provides it.

Interestingly, email support by Getresponse is available in 8 languages, well this is highly commendable. These languages are: English, Polish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Portuguese.

How good is the Getresponse free trial?

You can try Getresponse out for free before buying it. Just like it is for every email marketing solution out there. The free trial is fully functional and lasts for a month (30 days), and allows you to use a list of up to 1,000 subscribers.

You can sign up for the free trial here.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Getresponse is said to be one of the most cost-effective ways to host and communicate with an email database. It has competitive price in its marketplace; it provides email marketing, automation, landing pages, e-commerce, sales funnels and webinars all in one place, which makes it an all in one email marketing solution. And it is also one of the most interesting products of its kind.

It has a free trial length of over 30 days which is considered generous. It’s really difficult to proffer another competing email marketing solution that will offer this “all round proposition”.

Getresponse webinar feature is a feature that is fully packed and amazingly offers good value for what it is. I am impressed by its functionality

Its interface is user friendly and even a newbie can get along in no short time.

However, I suggest some improvements should be made on Getresponse.

The key thing that I think Getresponse should look into is the GDPR. Getresponse should introduce a GDPR complaint cookie consent mechanism for their landing pages. It is a very important feature that needs to be reviewed. The landing pages should be made to be more user-friendly.

More controls should be offered and introduced for the data capture forms. Controls should contain an option to switch them on or off on mobile.

And lastly, facilitating two-factor authentication during login should be considered by Getresponse.

In summary, let me outline the pros and cons of Getresponse

Pros of using Getresponse

  • Getresponse has a Lot of templates to choose from, making building almost anything on the platform possible with great ease.
  • You have the ability to view your marketing automation workflows and funnels visuals without having to just imagine. And they offer some really advanced features when it comes to marketing automation.
  • It is user friendly.
  • As long as you are comfortable in using a ‘Basic’ plan, Getresponse is way cheaper than many of its key competitors in many certain areas whilst offering just as much, if not more functionality as them.
  • You get an extremely generous discount when you are paying upfront for one or two years of service. It’s something you might not find easily with key competitors.
  • Getresponse has a flexible approach to segmentation of data which makes list management really straightforward. This particular feature outshines many competing products.
  • The functionality of Getresponse’s webinar feature is really great. This is something I personally haven’t come across on similar products. Webinar feature usually stands on its own and brings the need for a third-party webinar tool when necessary.
  • The conversion funnel feature makes the process of building high-converting funnels very easy. The feature is potentially useful for small businesses who want to manage all aspects of their social media ads, sales funnels and e-commerce activity under one roof, something Getresponse makes possible.
  • Its analytic features are comprehensive and transparent
  • Getresponse deliverability rates are transparent. It publishes figures on its website and provides deliverability statistics for the e-newsletters you send.
  • All plans in Getresponse come with a useful landing page creator and facilitates A/B testing, this has truly proven to be money saving.
  • A Custom DKIM is provided on all plans.
  • Customer Support is provided in a variety of different languages (8 languages).
  • Integration runs swiftly with Google Analytics and other metrics tools.
  • With the exception of adequate cookie consent features on Getresponse landing pages, it has met with the GDPR requirements.
  • Getresponse offers a 30 days free trial and you get full access to all their features, all this without the need to even register your credit card details.

The Cons of Getresponse

  • There is need for improvement in the drag and drop interface for creating forms as it is a bit fiddly. The building form process is limiting and not as intuitive compared to building emails and landing pages.
  • It is possible to use Facebook pixel with Getresponse’s landing page feature but you can’t do so in a GDPR compliant way.
  • Data capture forms should be improved so that users have the option to switch them on or off on mobile devices.
  • There’s no 2-factor authentication at login and at such less security.
  • There is a hard limit of reaching 500 webinar attendees.
  • Phone support is only provided to members on the “Max” plan. Only Max plan subscribers them can experience a dedicated customer support
  • Most of the integrations for Getresponse involves Zapier (third-party syncing tool)

Getresponse alternatives

There are many other well-known alternatives of Getresponse. This includes solutions like Aweber, Mailchimp, Mailerlite and Campaign Monitor.

Aweber is the most basic tool of the four mentioned above, but it also has a solid and reliable offering. The advantage of Aweber over Getresponse is the fact that it do comes with the phone support feature, and also provides a free plan that can enable you to host a maximum of 500 contacts.

With the exception of webinars,

Mailchimp offers a lot of features that are quite similar to Getresponse. But the main advantage of Mailchimp over Getresponse is the ability of integration. Mailchimp tends to integrate more easily with other external services. And also, its e-newsletter templates as of now behave quite better than Getresponse e-newsletter templates in the Gmail mobile app. But Mailchimp is expensive; it tends to charge you for every contact on your list including the unsubscribed ones. Campaign Monitor is another good but expensive option, it does come with a bunch of lovely templates and a super user-friendly interface.

How to Manage and Create Email Campaigns With the Convert Kit

Email campaigns can be costly if not done correctly. There are certain steps you can take to decrease your email marketing costs. If you are interested in email automation, one of the best ways to do so is to convert your kit into an email campaign. Convert your kit into email campaigns and see how it can help you grow your email marketing business. In this article you will learn about some of the benefits you can enjoy by converting your kit into an email automation solution.

Email campaigns are usually run on a per email group basis. This means you only spend money on emails that you actually send out as part of your email marketing strategy. However, sometimes you have a large amount of traffic to your website that you want to send out emails to. In those cases, using a system such as a convert kit makes it easy to create an email campaign for all of those traffic volumes.

The convert kit does a lot more than just email conversions. It also has some neat email management features built-in. Once you have set up the email conversion process from your conversion kit, you can schedule emails to go out at preset intervals. When the scheduled email time comes, the emails go out and the subscribers are notified of the email.

Not only does this make it easy to schedule email campaigns, but it also helps you better manage your email campaign. You can determine who is open to receiving your emails. If you sent an email to everyone, but only a few people opened it, you might send another email to the few that opened it the first time to try and get more responses. You can now track which emails are getting responses. You can send emails to more people based on their opening emails. This allows you to fine-tune your email campaigns.

With this tool, you can easily create email campaigns. The schedule feature lets you determine when to send emails. You can easily create different lists for different segments. You can even send different messages based on geography, product or service.

Another great feature available with the convert kit is the ability to segment your list. If you want to test a particular email campaign, but not send it out to everyone on your list, you can simply segment the email addresses so that they only receive messages on certain things. If you wanted to test something on your auto-responder campaign, you can create a segment for that. Now, when you send that message, only people who want to receive that particular message will receive it. This streamlines your email campaigns and makes managing them much easier.

Apart from segmentation, the Convert Kit also provides a feature to help you build email campaigns. The email campaign manager allows you to see where your email campaign has been, how many emails are being opened, clicks, bounces, and so on. This is very useful to keep track of your marketing campaigns and learn where most of your traffic is coming from. It is also helpful if you have more than one website to promote on the Internet.

Convert Kit also gives you the power to create auto responders. With the ability to automate email campaigns, you can now concentrate on creating new email addresses for customers as well as managing your existing email campaigns. It is quite easy to set up auto responders since all you need to do is enter the email addresses and click the “send” button. If you want to manage your email campaigns more efficiently, you can also use the contact manager to choose which emails should be sent and which should not. It is a very powerful feature in the Convert Kit.

In fact, there are so many of them that it can be difficult to choose the right one for your business. However, this Mailchimp review will help you get an in-depth understanding of this popular email marketing platform.

First of all, what is this email automation platform? Email automation refers to the process of collecting, organizing, and managing all your emails from various sources such as email addresses, blogs, customers, and others. The email automation platform will basically take care of the repetitive, monotonous task of answering email after email. Instead, you can focus on managing your subscribers and marketing your products.

The major advantage of this platform is the built-in automation. All your emails will be automatically sent to your primary email address. You can then set up autoresponders to send your promotional emails or any other custom messages to all the subscribers on your list. For those who are using the advanced version, you can also set up permission rules so that only people in your list can open and read your emails.

Apart from all these, here are some of the major pros and cons of Mailchimp: Pros — The email marketing platform offers a free plan that allows unlimited automation. This means you will not need any staff to manage your list. With this unlimited automation you can send as many emails as you want for as long as you like. For people who use the free plan, you can manage 100 emails a day. This definitely beats the capacity of most small businesses to send out emails to all their subscribers.

- You can easily create and modify the newsletter and auto responder messages. With Mailchimp, you do not need any technical knowledge to manage your email campaigns. Apart from the free plan, there are other options like the ‘Pro’ and ‘Plus’ packages that offer additional features such as advanced subscriber automations and HTML templates for the messages. This definitely increases the productivity of your marketing campaign.

- It comes with the advanced features such as an inbuilt form builder, auto responders, etc. With this you can easily send multiple emails to the subscribers. Apart from the built-in form builder, the emails come in different styles such as text, html, plain text, rtf, and much more.

- With Mailchimp you can easily integrate your email marketing campaigns with other popular online marketing automation platforms such as Aweber and Getresponse. This makes your campaigns more dynamic. With the help of the form builder you can create multiple mailing lists. These lists can then be used for different purposes such as advertising, sales, and even tracking. You also have the option of sending out targeted promotions through email.

If you want to get ahead in competitive online business, you should consider getting the services of Mailchimp. It is an open source solution for all email service providers. With this, you are sure to save money while increasing your business profitability. Apart from that, it also offers a very good support for your email campaigns. So if you are interested in finding a cost-effective solution for your email campaigns, then definitely take a look at Mailchimp.

The other reason why Mailchimp is considered to be a very good solution is that it is a very good platform for email marketing. With this software you get to manage your emails very easily and you will also be able to send large volumes of emails without any issues. It also comes with a free plan that allows you to test out their service first before you invest in a larger version. In this way you can test the waters first and see how well you do with their service.

This means that you can try out the service first and see whether or not it suits your needs. If after using Mailchimp for a while you decide to go with a more comprehensive solution, then you can. However, with the free plan you can still receive unlimited messages for an entire year. This is a very important aspect of the Mailchimp review as this is a very powerful email marketing automation platform.

So in this Mailchimp review we have looked at some of the key points relating to this powerful program. Firstly, it is a very powerful platform for email marketing and with the unlimited sending and tracking capabilities it offers you there is no limit as to how much traffic you can generate or how many customers you can sign up. The best thing about it is that it comes with both a free trial and a paid version, which allow you to test it out and see if it is right for your business. Overall, in our opinion, it is an excellent solution for email service providers and e-marketing beginners as well.
